3G Cellular for Dispersed Air-conditioners’ Monitoring

In the below project, InHand Networks help one of the biggest air-conditioner manufactures to create its remote monitor service system by using 3G technology.
In this project, the air-conditioner manufacture wanted to provide its customers with value added service including status analysis, running diagnosis and maintenance service. During the implementation, the manufacture encountered a lot of difficulties, for example, they should use a suitable networking method which can cost-effectively cover all the buildings installed their air conditioner.
According to the customer’s real need, we proposed the networking solution based on 3G mobile network. At the remote site, the PLC connected with several sensors which were used to measure the status (temperature, vibration amplitude, etc.) of the air-conditioner key parts such as the centrifuge machine. After initial calculation, the PLC would send the information to InRouter 711WH01 industrial cellular router, which first connected to the internet and then created secured VPN tunnel to the monitoring center through universal UMTS network. The monitoring center should have a public fixed IP which enable IR711WH01 routers to reach the data center. After created the VPN tunnel, the manufacture could easily observe the status of any air conditioner they wanted to.
